Aurora is the Goddess of the "Dawn" who is Venus the Morning Star.

Reality and myth begin to merge as the fairytale characters awaken from the Evil Queen's broken curse and remember who they were. But to their dismay, they aren't transported back to Fairytale Land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin - aka Mr. Gold - wanting to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, has introduced magic into the town. In fairytales, magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences.
Meanwhile, back in the Fairytale Land that still unknowingly exists, Prince Phillip awakens his sleeping beauty, Aurora, but discovers that he and his traveling companion, Mulan, will soon have to face a deadly foe.
And in November 2012 two films with the "Dawn" theme are to be released in theaters a week from each other (Nov. 16-23) with Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt.2 and Red Dawn.
These two films also relate to Morning star (Lucifer) through the Scarlet baby Renesmee (meaning Reborn), in Twilight and the Pentagram on the North Korean flag (Venus) in Red Dawn. Colorado also means Red.September 27th the premiere of the TV show Last Resort, which is about the rogue nuclear submarine USS Colorado aired. The Original Red Dawn Film also took place in Colorado, right next door to Denver and Aurora.
The film is set in an alternate 1980s in which the United States is invaded by the Soviet Union and its Cuban and Nicaraguan allies. However, the onset of World War III is in the background and not fully elaborated. The story follows a group of American high school students who resist the occupation with guerrilla warfare, calling themselves Wolverines, after their high school mascot.

The Games were opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The spectacle entitled Isles of Wonder was designed and co-ordinated by film director Danny Boyle, with musical direction by electronic music group Underworld.
:Introduction
At exactly 8:12 pm, the Red Arrows performed a flypast over the Olympic Stadium. The ceremony began at 9pm with a short countdown film entitled Journey along the Thames.
Beginning at the source of the river Thames in Gloucestershire, the film traced the river to the heart of London, juxtaposing images of contemporary British life with pastoral shots. The soundtrack included Lord Lloyd-Webber's Variations, the EastEnders theme tune, "London Calling" by The Clash, and the Sex Pistols song "God Save The Queen".
[July 22, 2012, Bradley Wiggins becomes the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France. ]
The film's track ended in the Olympic Stadium, where groups of children held balloons numbered from 10 to 1 that popped in sequence with an audience-led countdown. Bradley Wiggins emerged to open the ceremony by ringing the largest harmonically tuned bell in the world - located at one end of the stadium.
Part 1: Green and Pleasant
At the beginning, the floor of the stadium had at its center a model village as promised by Boyle, replete with live animals, actors portraying working villagers and a model of Glastonbury Tor.

Glastonbury Tor is a hill at Glastonbury, Somerset, England, which features the roofless St. Michael's Tower. Tor is a local word of Celtic origin meaning 'rock outcropping' or 'hill'. The Tor has a striking location in the middle of a plain called the Summerland Meadows, part of the Somerset Levels.
The spot seems to have been called Ynys yr Afalon (meaning "The Isle of Avalon") by the Britons, and it is believed by some to be the Avalon of Arthurian legend, since the alleged discovery of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere's neatly labelled coffins in 1191, recounted by Gerald of Wales. Modern archaeology has revealed several sub-Roman structures. A live choir sang "Jerusalem" (from England), complemented by filmed performances of "Danny Boy" (from the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland), "Flower of Scotland" (from Edinburgh Castle in Scotland) and "Bread of Heaven" (from Rhossilli Beach in Wales).
As the performances progressed, vintage London General Omnibus Company stagecoaches entered the stadium, carrying men in Victorian dress, complete with top hats. Led by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. After walking up Glastonbury Tor, Brunel delivered Caliban's "Be not afeard" speech from Act 3, Scene II of Shakespeare's The Tempest reflecting Boyle's introduction to the ceremony in the program.
Part 2: Pandemonium (The Satanic Mills)
Progressing to the Industrial Revolution, chimney stacks and accompanying steeplejacks rose from the ground as the villagers rolled away the grass and other props, and workers mimed forging what eventually became the fifth Olympic ring. This part of the show also included a touching silence in remembrance of the sacrifice and loss of life of both the World Wars, featuring British 'Tommies' and a field of poppies. Many of the participants, including the Victorian gentlemen, mimed the repetitive mechanical movements associated with industrial processes, such as weaving. As the parade progressed, four Olympic rings were flown into place above the stadium floor, and the fifth was raised into position; when in place, the rings ignited and rained fire.
Boyle described this section of the ceremony as "Pandemonium" (in reference to the capital of Hell in Paradise Lost), and said that it celebrated the "tremendous potential" afforded by the advancements of the Victorian era.
Part 3: Happy and Glorious
The ceremony then cut to Happy and Glorious, a film featuring James Bond entering Buckingham Palace. Bond escorted Queen Elizabeth II out of the building and into a waiting helicopter, which flew over the stadium; actors playing the pair then parachuted out of the helicopter.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh (as well as Count Rogge, President of the IOC) were then introduced in the stadium. The Union Flag was then raised by members of the British Armed Forces, with the national anthem performed.
Part 4: Salute to Hygieia (Health)
The next sequence celebrated the National Health Service (NHS).
NHS staff entered the stadium with children on hospital beds, some of which functioned as trampolines. Watching from the Tor were nine specially invited hospital staff and patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The beds' blankets illuminated, and the beds were arranged into a child's face with a smile and a tear (Great Ormond Street Hospital's logo) and its acronym "GOSH" , then into the initials NHS, turning into the shape of a crescent moon as the children are hushed to sleep.
A celebration of children's literature by British authors began with J.K. Rowling reading a section from Peter Pan), and inflatable representations of children's literature villains The Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil, and Lord Voldemort. The Child Catcher appeared amongst the children. Then dozens of women playing Mary Poppins descended on flying umbrellas as the characters deflated and the actors resumed dancing.
Part 4: Chariots of Fire and Pop Culture
Sir Simon Rattle was then introduced to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Vangelis' "Chariots of Fire". Rowan Atkinson appeared, in character as Mr Bean, comically playing a repeated single note on synthesizer. He then lapsed into a filmed dream sequence in which he joined the runners from the film Chariots of Fire, beating them in their iconic run along West Sands at St. Andrews by riding in a car and tripping the front runner.
This was followed by a sequence highlighting British popular culture, titled 'Frankie & June say... Thanks Tim'. At the close the house is raised to reveal Sir Tim Berners-Lee working at a NeXT Computer, like the one on which he invented the World Wide Web. He tweeted: "This is for everyone", instantly spelled out in LCD lights held by the audience.
After a filmed sequence showing David Beckham riding up the Thames in a boat with the Olympic torch,
a group of dancers including Akram Khan performed to a rendition of "Abide with Me" by Emeli Sandé in tribute to victims of war and the 2005 London bombings, which happened the day after the announcement that London had been awarded the 2012 Olympics.
Part 5: Parade of Nations and Lighting of the Cauldron
Each team entered the stadium led by three individuals: the flagbearer in the center, a child volunteer carrying what looked like a metal vase on camera-left, and, camera-right, a young lady carrying a sign stating the country's name. The child volunteer was actually carrying a metal petal engraved with the name of the nation, which would be used to build the Olympic Cauldron for the torch relay destination. The flags were planted on the Glastonbury Tor representation in the stadium.
The formal part of the ceremony was introduced by Lord Coe, who welcomed The Queen, other visiting monarchs, the athletes, the spectators and worldwide television viewers to London. He expressed his pride in being British and part of the Olympic movement and stated that the Olympics were "to celebrate what is best about mankind".
Jacques Rogge responded by thanking London, and stating that it was the third time that London had held the Olympics. He pointed out that for the first time in Olympic history, every team had women participants. He enjoined the athletes to play fairly and be drug free, reminding them that they were role models for the future generation. Rogge then invited the Queen to open the Games.The Queen declared the Olympic Games open, immediately followed by a fireworks display. The 2012 ceremony is the second time the Queen opened an Olympic Games, the first being in Montreal, Canada in July 1976.
Beckham handed the Olympic torch to Sir Steve Redgrave, six-time Olympic medalist in rowing. He ran the torch into the stadium, through a guard of honor formed by construction workers who built the Olympic Park, and handed it to a team of seven young athletes. After completing a lap of the stadium, each was hugged by their nominating Olympians, and each presented with their own torches, which were lit from the original. They then completed another partial circuit of the stadium, before each lighting one of 204 copper petals — one for every nation competing in this competition — mounted on long, hinged arms. When the flame had spread to all of the petals, they were raised up in rings and converged to form the Olympic cauldron.
During the cauldron lighting, Alex Trimble, the lead singer of Northern Irish indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club, performed the song "Caliban's Dream." (In Shakespeare's The Tempest, Caliban is the name of the deformed son of a witch). The song was written specifically for the ceremony by Rick Smith of Underworld.
The cauldron lighting was followed by a fireworks presentation, the climax of which was soundtracked by Pink Floyd's song "Eclipse". Sir Paul McCartney and his band performed the ending of "The End" and "Hey Jude", with its anthem-like finale sung by the entire stadium, to close the ceremony.
2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony: A Symphony of British Music
The ceremony commenced on August 12th, with fireworks that followed a countdown showing numbers from around London on such locations as road signs, 10 Downing Street, Big Ben, and others.
The theme then involved newspaper cutouts for the the street sets and vehicles on the road that sought to show a "day in the life of London." The newspapers had words from British literary figures such as William Shakespeare, amongst others. The show also featured London landmarks including the Tower Bridge, Big Ben and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Timothy Spall acting as Winston Churchill opened the performance giving the same speech by Caliban in The Tempest as Kenneth Branagh had done during the opening ceremony.
The guests of honour were IOC President Jacques Rogge and Prince Harry, as representative of the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.In accordance with tradition, the medal ceremony for the men's marathon took place, with Uganda's national anthem (Oh Uganda, Land of Beauty) played as Stephen Kiprotich was awarded the last medal.

The show involved both established acts and new talent, to celebrate music having been one of Britain’s strongest cultural exports over the past 50 years.
With actors reprising Del and Rodney also in costume as Batman and Robin.
There was a rendering of John Lennon's "Imagine", as well as a video of Freddie Mercury, prior to performances from Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen.
Monty Python's Eric Idle performed the comedy skit of the night.
Additionally the Olympic flag was symbolically passed on from the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to the head of the IOC, Jacques Rogge and then onto the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, who held it while the Brazilian anthem was played. In accordance with tradition, Brazil then gave a short preview performance as the host of the next Games; their skit featured international football star Pele. In his final words, at the end of the games, Sebastian Coe, the chairman of LOCOG, reminded the audience of his words during the opening ceremony that the Games would be a chance for Great Britain's determination to show itself at its best and that he would not add: "Britain, we did it right." Rogge added that the Games had been "happy and glorious." Rogge also declared the games closed.
The Olympic flame was then lowered. Ballerina Darcey Bussell then descended from the roof wearing orange phoenix-like wings and performed to "Spirit of the Flame".

Though the audience initially booed in reaction to the ceremony approaching its climax, a final performance by The Who followed before another firework display closed out the the Games.

August 29, 2012, Summer Para-Olympics Opening Ceremony: Enlightenment
[Artistic director Jenny Sealey said it was pure coincidence that she and Hemmings had chosen a line from the same play that was used by Danny Boyle in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. "When we found out Danny Boyle was going to reference Shakespeare's The Tempest we burst out laughing."

Hawking said: "We live in a universe governed by rational laws that we can discover and understand. Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious."
Then one of the tasks Miranda had to perform was finding an apple after passing through a maze. When Miranda found the apple, the whole audience took a bite into apples they were given at the start of the ceremony, at the exact same time.Based on scientific discoveries and The Enlightenment, the ceremony featured the Big Bang, a giant library and the Large Hadron Collider at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland.
It also featured a giant representation of the sculpture Alison Lapper Pregnant by Marc Quinn. Prominent figures such as Isaac Newton and William Harvey were featured as well as others from science, sport and music.
Parade of Nations and Speeches
Once all the nations arrived into the stadium, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games chairman Sebastian Coe and president of the International Paralympic Committee Philip Craven addressed the audience. Coe noted that the Paralympic Games were 'coming home', as the very first Paralympic Games were held in 1948 at Stoke Mandeville in England. Both Coe and Craven paid homage to the founder of the games at Stoke Mandeville, Ludwig Guttmann. The Games were then open by Queen Elizabeth II.
The closing ceremony opened with a convoy of steampunk-inspired vehicles (mostly inspired by the film Mad Max), along with the formation of the Paralympic emblem by a horde of silver-colored "wind gremlins". This was followed by a tribute to the British military; future Paralympian and Military Captain Luke Sinnott, scaled a flag pole (representing human endeavour) to fly the Union Jack, followed by the entrance of Prince Edward.

The Games were opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The spectacle entitled Isles of Wonder was designed and co-ordinated by film director Danny Boyle, with musical direction by electronic music group Underworld.
:Introduction
At exactly 8:12 pm, the Red Arrows performed a flypast over the Olympic Stadium. The ceremony began at 9pm with a short countdown film entitled Journey along the Thames.
Beginning at the source of the river Thames in Gloucestershire, the film traced the river to the heart of London, juxtaposing images of contemporary British life with pastoral shots. The soundtrack included Lord Lloyd-Webber's Variations, the EastEnders theme tune, "London Calling" by The Clash, and the Sex Pistols song "God Save The Queen".

The film's track ended in the Olympic Stadium, where groups of children held balloons numbered from 10 to 1 that popped in sequence with an audience-led countdown. Bradley Wiggins emerged to open the ceremony by ringing the largest harmonically tuned bell in the world - located at one end of the stadium.
Part 1: Green and Pleasant
At the beginning, the floor of the stadium had at its center a model village as promised by Boyle, replete with live animals, actors portraying working villagers and a model of Glastonbury Tor.

Glastonbury Tor is a hill at Glastonbury, Somerset, England, which features the roofless St. Michael's Tower. Tor is a local word of Celtic origin meaning 'rock outcropping' or 'hill'. The Tor has a striking location in the middle of a plain called the Summerland Meadows, part of the Somerset Levels.
The spot seems to have been called Ynys yr Afalon (meaning "The Isle of Avalon") by the Britons, and it is believed by some to be the Avalon of Arthurian legend, since the alleged discovery of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere's neatly labelled coffins in 1191, recounted by Gerald of Wales. Modern archaeology has revealed several sub-Roman structures. A live choir sang "Jerusalem" (from England), complemented by filmed performances of "Danny Boy" (from the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland), "Flower of Scotland" (from Edinburgh Castle in Scotland) and "Bread of Heaven" (from Rhossilli Beach in Wales).
As the performances progressed, vintage London General Omnibus Company stagecoaches entered the stadium, carrying men in Victorian dress, complete with top hats. Led by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. After walking up Glastonbury Tor, Brunel delivered Caliban's "Be not afeard" speech from Act 3, Scene II of Shakespeare's The Tempest reflecting Boyle's introduction to the ceremony in the program.
Part 2: Pandemonium (The Satanic Mills)
Progressing to the Industrial Revolution, chimney stacks and accompanying steeplejacks rose from the ground as the villagers rolled away the grass and other props, and workers mimed forging what eventually became the fifth Olympic ring. This part of the show also included a touching silence in remembrance of the sacrifice and loss of life of both the World Wars, featuring British 'Tommies' and a field of poppies. Many of the participants, including the Victorian gentlemen, mimed the repetitive mechanical movements associated with industrial processes, such as weaving. As the parade progressed, four Olympic rings were flown into place above the stadium floor, and the fifth was raised into position; when in place, the rings ignited and rained fire.
Boyle described this section of the ceremony as "Pandemonium" (in reference to the capital of Hell in Paradise Lost), and said that it celebrated the "tremendous potential" afforded by the advancements of the Victorian era.
Part 3: Happy and Glorious
The ceremony then cut to Happy and Glorious, a film featuring James Bond entering Buckingham Palace. Bond escorted Queen Elizabeth II out of the building and into a waiting helicopter, which flew over the stadium; actors playing the pair then parachuted out of the helicopter.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh (as well as Count Rogge, President of the IOC) were then introduced in the stadium. The Union Flag was then raised by members of the British Armed Forces, with the national anthem performed.
Part 4: Salute to Hygieia (Health)
The next sequence celebrated the National Health Service (NHS).
NHS staff entered the stadium with children on hospital beds, some of which functioned as trampolines. Watching from the Tor were nine specially invited hospital staff and patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The beds' blankets illuminated, and the beds were arranged into a child's face with a smile and a tear (Great Ormond Street Hospital's logo) and its acronym "GOSH" , then into the initials NHS, turning into the shape of a crescent moon as the children are hushed to sleep.
A celebration of children's literature by British authors began with J.K. Rowling reading a section from Peter Pan), and inflatable representations of children's literature villains The Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil, and Lord Voldemort. The Child Catcher appeared amongst the children. Then dozens of women playing Mary Poppins descended on flying umbrellas as the characters deflated and the actors resumed dancing.
Part 4: Chariots of Fire and Pop Culture
Sir Simon Rattle was then introduced to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Vangelis' "Chariots of Fire". Rowan Atkinson appeared, in character as Mr Bean, comically playing a repeated single note on synthesizer. He then lapsed into a filmed dream sequence in which he joined the runners from the film Chariots of Fire, beating them in their iconic run along West Sands at St. Andrews by riding in a car and tripping the front runner.
This was followed by a sequence highlighting British popular culture, titled 'Frankie & June say... Thanks Tim'. At the close the house is raised to reveal Sir Tim Berners-Lee working at a NeXT Computer, like the one on which he invented the World Wide Web. He tweeted: "This is for everyone", instantly spelled out in LCD lights held by the audience.
After a filmed sequence showing David Beckham riding up the Thames in a boat with the Olympic torch,
a group of dancers including Akram Khan performed to a rendition of "Abide with Me" by Emeli Sandé in tribute to victims of war and the 2005 London bombings, which happened the day after the announcement that London had been awarded the 2012 Olympics.
Part 5: Parade of Nations and Lighting of the Cauldron
Each team entered the stadium led by three individuals: the flagbearer in the center, a child volunteer carrying what looked like a metal vase on camera-left, and, camera-right, a young lady carrying a sign stating the country's name. The child volunteer was actually carrying a metal petal engraved with the name of the nation, which would be used to build the Olympic Cauldron for the torch relay destination. The flags were planted on the Glastonbury Tor representation in the stadium.
The formal part of the ceremony was introduced by Lord Coe, who welcomed The Queen, other visiting monarchs, the athletes, the spectators and worldwide television viewers to London. He expressed his pride in being British and part of the Olympic movement and stated that the Olympics were "to celebrate what is best about mankind".
Jacques Rogge responded by thanking London, and stating that it was the third time that London had held the Olympics. He pointed out that for the first time in Olympic history, every team had women participants. He enjoined the athletes to play fairly and be drug free, reminding them that they were role models for the future generation. Rogge then invited the Queen to open the Games.The Queen declared the Olympic Games open, immediately followed by a fireworks display. The 2012 ceremony is the second time the Queen opened an Olympic Games, the first being in Montreal, Canada in July 1976.
Beckham handed the Olympic torch to Sir Steve Redgrave, six-time Olympic medalist in rowing. He ran the torch into the stadium, through a guard of honor formed by construction workers who built the Olympic Park, and handed it to a team of seven young athletes. After completing a lap of the stadium, each was hugged by their nominating Olympians, and each presented with their own torches, which were lit from the original. They then completed another partial circuit of the stadium, before each lighting one of 204 copper petals — one for every nation competing in this competition — mounted on long, hinged arms. When the flame had spread to all of the petals, they were raised up in rings and converged to form the Olympic cauldron.
During the cauldron lighting, Alex Trimble, the lead singer of Northern Irish indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club, performed the song "Caliban's Dream." (In Shakespeare's The Tempest, Caliban is the name of the deformed son of a witch). The song was written specifically for the ceremony by Rick Smith of Underworld.
The cauldron lighting was followed by a fireworks presentation, the climax of which was soundtracked by Pink Floyd's song "Eclipse". Sir Paul McCartney and his band performed the ending of "The End" and "Hey Jude", with its anthem-like finale sung by the entire stadium, to close the ceremony.
2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony: A Symphony of British Music
The ceremony commenced on August 12th, with fireworks that followed a countdown showing numbers from around London on such locations as road signs, 10 Downing Street, Big Ben, and others.
The theme then involved newspaper cutouts for the the street sets and vehicles on the road that sought to show a "day in the life of London." The newspapers had words from British literary figures such as William Shakespeare, amongst others. The show also featured London landmarks including the Tower Bridge, Big Ben and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Timothy Spall acting as Winston Churchill opened the performance giving the same speech by Caliban in The Tempest as Kenneth Branagh had done during the opening ceremony.
The guests of honour were IOC President Jacques Rogge and Prince Harry, as representative of the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.In accordance with tradition, the medal ceremony for the men's marathon took place, with Uganda's national anthem (Oh Uganda, Land of Beauty) played as Stephen Kiprotich was awarded the last medal.

The show involved both established acts and new talent, to celebrate music having been one of Britain’s strongest cultural exports over the past 50 years.
With actors reprising Del and Rodney also in costume as Batman and Robin.
There was a rendering of John Lennon's "Imagine", as well as a video of Freddie Mercury, prior to performances from Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen.
Monty Python's Eric Idle performed the comedy skit of the night.
Additionally the Olympic flag was symbolically passed on from the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to the head of the IOC, Jacques Rogge and then onto the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, who held it while the Brazilian anthem was played. In accordance with tradition, Brazil then gave a short preview performance as the host of the next Games; their skit featured international football star Pele. In his final words, at the end of the games, Sebastian Coe, the chairman of LOCOG, reminded the audience of his words during the opening ceremony that the Games would be a chance for Great Britain's determination to show itself at its best and that he would not add: "Britain, we did it right." Rogge added that the Games had been "happy and glorious." Rogge also declared the games closed.
The Olympic flame was then lowered. Ballerina Darcey Bussell then descended from the roof wearing orange phoenix-like wings and performed to "Spirit of the Flame".

Though the audience initially booed in reaction to the ceremony approaching its climax, a final performance by The Who followed before another firework display closed out the the Games.

August 29, 2012, Summer Para-Olympics Opening Ceremony: Enlightenment
Stephen Hawking appeared live to narrate the ceremony, which was produced by Stephen Daldry. The ceremony continued the theme of Shakespeare's The Tempest from the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics, with Hawking acting as a guide to Miranda, a character from the play, and Ian McKellen playing Prospero.
[Artistic director Jenny Sealey said it was pure coincidence that she and Hemmings had chosen a line from the same play that was used by Danny Boyle in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. "When we found out Danny Boyle was going to reference Shakespeare's The Tempest we burst out laughing."

Then one of the tasks Miranda had to perform was finding an apple after passing through a maze. When Miranda found the apple, the whole audience took a bite into apples they were given at the start of the ceremony, at the exact same time.Based on scientific discoveries and The Enlightenment, the ceremony featured the Big Bang, a giant library and the Large Hadron Collider at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland.
It also featured a giant representation of the sculpture Alison Lapper Pregnant by Marc Quinn. Prominent figures such as Isaac Newton and William Harvey were featured as well as others from science, sport and music.
Parade of Nations and Speeches
Once all the nations arrived into the stadium, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games chairman Sebastian Coe and president of the International Paralympic Committee Philip Craven addressed the audience. Coe noted that the Paralympic Games were 'coming home', as the very first Paralympic Games were held in 1948 at Stoke Mandeville in England. Both Coe and Craven paid homage to the founder of the games at Stoke Mandeville, Ludwig Guttmann. The Games were then open by Queen Elizabeth II.
September 9, 2012, The fourteenth Summer Paralympics Closing Ceremony: Festival of the Flame (The Guardian)
The closing ceremony opened with a convoy of steampunk-inspired vehicles (mostly inspired by the film Mad Max), along with the formation of the Paralympic emblem by a horde of silver-colored "wind gremlins". This was followed by a tribute to the British military; future Paralympian and Military Captain Luke Sinnott, scaled a flag pole (representing human endeavour) to fly the Union Jack, followed by the entrance of Prince Edward.
Blind and autistic singer Lissa Hermans (who also performed the song as a charity single for the Diamond Jubilee) then performed God Save The Queen. The British anthem was followed by a speech by Rory Mackenzie introducing the theme of the ceremony's cultural presentation.
Part 2: The Festival of the Flame
Followed by the summoning of "spirits" representing the four seasons, first representing the spirit of fire. Coldplay then took the stage, accompanied by a visual performance evoking themes relating to summer, which included a giant burning figure of a face and dancers suspended from balloons. The segment was followed by a tribute to the volunteers of the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in London.
A segment representing the season of winter and the arrival of spring followed, featuring a Snow Queen who arrived on a throne made from icicles. Rihanna then arrived on a steampunk-styled pirate ship to perform her collaboration with Coldplay "Princess of China", along with her recent hit single. Coldplay concluded its set with its song "Viva La Vida".
Part 3: Handover and Closing of the Games
The Paralympic flag was formally lowered. The flag was then given to Mayor of London Boris Johnson, who passed the flag to International Paralympic Committee president Philip Craven, who formally handed the flag to Eduardo Paes, mayor of Rio de Janeiro. The handover was followed by a cultural presentation by Rio entitled "Joy", which featured a performance by a Brazilian singer and a series of dance battles incorporating a fusion of hip-hop and samba styles performed by both disabled and able-bodied dancers.The presentation was followed by a speech by Sebastian Coe. Before officially closing the games, IPC president Philip Craven addressed the ceremony, congratulating London for hosting an "amazing" Paralympic Games.
The Paralympic cauldron was then extinguished, except for one petal. The flame of this remaining pedal was used by Ellie Simmonds and Jonnie Peacock to light torches used to spread the flame throughout the stadium, representing the its eternal nature. Coldplay returned to the stage, along with rapper Jay-Z and Rihanna to perform "Run This Town", followed by a reprise of "Paradise".
This was then followed by a performance of "The Scientist", a closing performance of "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall", and a fireworks show over Olympic Stadium and the Thames River, ending with a projected message on the Palace of Westminster, "Thank you London, Thank you UK."

The Closing Ceremony (Tribute to British Symphony) then put a cherry on top of it all literally, when they displayed the Phoenix over the Olympic Torch as it was extinguished, with a complete dance number with everyone dressed as the Phoenix.

The location has been named Bradbury Landing in honor of science fiction author Ray Bradbury.The rover's goals include investigation of the Martian climate, geology, and whether Mars could have ever supported life, including investigation of the role of water and planetary habitability, as well as preparation for future human exploration.

Now back to the Olympics a few weeks after the "regular" Olympics came the Paralympics which Opening (named Enlightenment) and Closing Ceremonies ( named Festival of the Flame) held up in their own right with the first ceremonies in London, while not having a central theme on London but rather humanity.
The Opening Ceremony Enlightenment's main center piece was also a giant Moon.
So with the highlight of the Moon, Neil Armstrong and Princess Diana also make headlines through the death of Neil and the 15th anniversary of the death of Diana. And the following week Sun Myung Moon and Andy Williams "The Moon River" also died.
Then with the theme being Enlightenment the rest of the show was a tribute to science and knowledge, proclaiming universal rights for all and a brave new world (ie Global New World Order). With the closing tribute being given to Isaac Newton and the Apple that fell on his head.

And the Closing of the Olympics The Festival of the Flame, began with the Phoenix being brought back in book form, with the intial being read showing directions to the stadium.
The main center piece was then turned out to be a Sun Dial with a Stairway to Heaven.
Coldplay then played 15 "happy go lucky positive attitude" globalization songs with a psychedelic ambiance while performers danced through the four seasons with highlight being given to the Sun God and Winter Goddess.
Rihanna then entered to help close out the concert entering on a Vessel dawned in a Red robe before the ceremony was closed and handed off to Rio.

The last visual then seen for the 30th Olympics was a shot of the top of the stadium with colors arranged into a rainbow.
