Alice is a 2009 television mini-series being broadcast on American cable television channel Syfy. The miniseries is a reimagining of the classic Lewis Carroll stories Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, with science fiction and additional fantasy elements added. The miniseries is being produced by RHI Entertainment, the company that produced Tin Man, the highly successful 2007 adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. The series is four hours long, split into two parts, and premiered on Sunday, December 6, 2009. Writer and director Nick Willing previously directed a 1999 adaptation of the books which followed the story more closely; however, Alice is intended to be a modern interpretation, imagining how Wonderland might have evolved over the last 143 years.
Plot
Alice Hamilton (Caterina Scorsone), a woman in her twenties who lives with her mother, finds herself in Wonderland after the man she loves is kidnapped by the White Rabbit.
Wonderland is an outlandish city of twisted towers and casinos built out of playing cards, all under the rule of the Queen of Hearts. The White Rabbit is a secret organization that works for the Queen of Hearts and abducts people from the real world, so they can gamble in the Queen's casino. Once people are kidnapped, they are referred to as "oysters," and play in the casino so their emotions can be drained by the Queen. These drained emotions serve as the currency of Wonderland. The Queen keeps people under control by sedating them with elixirs (Rainbow Drugs = (Apotheosis)) that provide an instant fix of emotions as a way to pacify them when they become too unruly.
November is the 11th month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of four Gregorian months with the length of 30 days. November retained its name (from the Latin novem meaning "nine") when January and February were added to the Roman calendar.
In the pagan wheel of the year, November begins at or near Samhain in the northern hemisphere and Beltaine in the southern hemisphere.
The United States and Puerto Rico observe Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday in November.
Advent (from the Latin word adventus, meaning "coming") is a season of the Christian church, the period of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus; in other words, the period immediately before Christmas (Nov 27. - Dec 3.). It is the beginning of the Western liturgical year and commences on Advent Sunday.
Latin adventus is the translation of the Greek word parousia, commonly used in reference to the Second Coming. Christians believe that the season of Advent serves a dual reminder of the original waiting that was done by the Hebrews for the birth of their Messiah as well as the waiting that Christians today endure for the second coming of Christ.

A Christmas Carol is a Victorian morality tale of an old and bitter miser, Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey), who undergoes a profound experience of redemption over the course of one night. Mr. Scrooge is a financier/money-changer who has devoted his life to the accumulation of wealth. He holds anything other than money in contempt, including friendship, love and the Christmas season. November 6, 2009, Release of The Box.
The Box is a horror film based on the 1970 short story "Button, Button" by author Richard Matheson, which was previously adapted into an episode of The Twilight Zone. The film is written and directed by Richard Kelly and stars Cameron Diaz and James Marsden as a couple who receive a box with a mysterious power.
The film is set in Richmond, Virginia, in 1976. One night, a financially strapped, married couple, Arthur and Norma (Marsden and Diaz), receive a box that has a button. The next morning, a mysterious, disfigured stranger (Frank Langella) tells them that pushing the button will have consequences. They will receive $1,000,000, but someone in the world whom they don't know will die.
The story's premise recalls ideas set forth in Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments and repeated by Rousseau and Balzac, along with Sartre's No Exit. Smith argued that sympathy as a social bond was attenuated by distance, among other factors, and Balzac popularized the concept of killing someone at a distance--an idea which entered French dictionaries as early as the 1870s.

The Princess and the Frog is a 2009 American animated family feature film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, which is loosely based on E.D. Baker's novel The Frog Princess, which was in turn inspired by the Grimm brothers' fairy tale "The Frog Prince".
The film, which began production under the working title The Frog Princess, is an American fairy tale, Broadway-style musical set in the French Quarter of New Orleans. A prince named Naveen from the land of Maldonia is transformed into a frog by the evil scheming voodoo magician Dr. Facilier. The frog prince mistakes a girl named Tiana for a princess and has her kiss him to break the spell. However, the kiss doesn't break the spell, but instead turns Tiana into a frog as well. Together, the two of them must reach the good voodoo priestess of the Bayou, Mama Odie , while befriending a trumpet-playing alligator and a hopelessly romantic firefly along the way.

The Simpson family is returning from a ski vacation. Bart, Lisa and Maggie play with an annoying toy, which makes Homer angry. Homer breaks the toy and the family gets in a road accident.
A mysterious person drags them out. When the family wakes up, they discover that the mysterious person was Cletus. Cletus tells Homer about moonshine, and soon, Homer becomes judge of a moonshine competition.
Meanwhile, Lisa plays hide and seek with Cletus's daughters, but she hides too well and can't find her way back. She encounters three girls who are practicing Wiccans. They ask Lisa to join their coven, which she accepts after having discovered that they can't throw spells. But the three girls are arrested and put on trial because Ned Flanders called the police and Lisa becomes the principal witness.
Many of the citizens become suddenly blind (including Skinner, Krusty, and Luann Van Houten). They blame the three girls and wish to drown them, but Lisa explains that the real culprits are Homer and his friends who threw moonshine in the water because they were scared to be arrested by the police. After this explanation, the girls are freed and Homer plays with the witch-drowning chair.
