Will Smith: Osiris Scattered

Once, Tim Thomas (Will Smith) was a gifted aerospace engineer with a beautiful wife and a lovely beach house. Then, while using his cell phone while driving, his car wandered across lanes and he became responsible for the deaths of 7 others, including his beloved wife.

The Mystery of 7

Unable to forgive himself or raise the dead, Tim sets out to give "pounds of flesh" that will give new life to seven deserving individuals to make up for the seven lives he destroyed. Just as Antonio would have to die to pay Shylock the "pound of flesh" he demands. His brother Ben (Michael Ealy), who works for the IRS, is deeply concerned about his state of mind. Tim steals his brother's IRS ID to access the IRS database and to find and meet people who he believes worthy of his gifts.

Tim refuses to help and did not donate his bone marrow to the caretaker Stewart Goodman, because he was a bad man.

The seven people Tim helps are Emily Posa (to whom he gives his heart), Ezra Turner (to whom he gives his eyes), Ben Thomas (to whom he gives his lung), Holly (to whom he gives his right half of his liver), Connie (to whom he gives his house), Nicholas (to whom he donates bone marrow) and George (to whom he donates a kidney to in order to get off of dialysis). Hence the title of the movie is finally revealed: Ben kills seven people, but saves seven lives. He eases the load of guilt he had for the seven lives he took, and got rid of those "seven pounds" by saving seven other lives.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

"Farewell to the Master" is a science fiction short story written by Harry Bates. It was first published in the October 1940 issue of Astounding Science Fiction. It provided the basis of the noted 1951 film The Day the Earth Stood Still and its 2008 remake.

The story is told from the viewpoint of Cliff Sutherland, a free-lance picture reporter, who is present when a mysterious "curving ovoid" ship instantaneously appears on the grounds of the United States Capitol in Washington D.C. Two days later, "visitors from the Unknown" emerge: a "god-like" person in human form and an eight-foot robot made of green metal. The former is shot and killed by a lunatic after only managing to say in English, "I am Klaatu and this is Gnut." Klaatu is buried nearby. Gnut remains motionless, while laboratories and a museum are built around it and the ship. Both prove impervious to the investigations of frustrated scientists.

Sutherland discovers that the robot enters the ship each night when no one is watching, emerging to resume his position for the day. Gnut is aware of the reporter, but ignores him. After several odd encounters, Sutherland informs the world what he has learned. Gnut is encased in "glasstex", finally forcing the robot's hand. It breaks out, unaffected by all attempts to destroy it, picks up Sutherland and travels to the mausoleum containing Klaatu's corpse. It opens the tomb and takes a recording of Klaatu's voice stored there. It then returns and goes inside the ship.

Sutherland daringly boards the ship before the entrance closes and learns the reasons behind Gnut's behavior. The robot is working on a way to create a copy of Klaatu just from an audio recording of his greeting. However, the new Klaatu is flawed because the recording is imperfect, and he dies soon after speaking with the reporter. Sutherland then suggests retrieving the original recording device and, by studying it, figure out how to compensate for its imperfections; Gnut eagerly takes up this idea. Sutherland sees to it that the equipment is brought to it.

Then, when he somehow senses that the robot is ready to depart, Sutherland impresses upon it the need to tell its masters that Klaatu's death was an accident, leading to a surprise ending. Gnut explains, "You misunderstand, I am the master."

In a 1995 interview, producer Julian Blaustein explained that Joseph I. Breen, the film censor installed by the Motion Picture Association of America at the 20th Century Fox studios, balked at the portrayal of Klaatu's resurrection and limitless power. At the behest of the MPPDA, a line was inserted into the film: When Helen asks Klaatu if Gort has unlimited power over life and death, Klaatu explains that he has only been revived temporarily by advanced medical science and states that the power of resurrection is "reserved to the Almighty Spirit". Of the elements in the film that he added to Klaatu's character, Screenwriter Edmund North said: "It was my private little joke. I never discussed this angle with Blaustein or Wise because I didn't want it expressed. I had originally hoped that the Christ comparison would be subliminal". The fact that the question even came up in an interview is proof enough that such comparisons did not remain subliminal, but they are subtle enough that it is not immediately obvious to all viewers which elements of the film were intended to make Klaatu comparable to Christ. And yet, North did endeavor to do so, and evidence exists for some elements:

* Klaatu brings a message of peace.
* Klaatu is revived from the dead for a short time by the robotic Gort, as Jesus Christ is resurrected, and the resurrection was not temporary, originally.
* Klaatu gives a climactic statement of his mission, and then lifts off into space in his ship; Jesus gave a final address to his disciples before 'ascending into heaven' (New Testament, Acts Chapter 1).

-Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, an alien messenger in human form. Reeves dislikes remakes, but was impressed by the script, which he deemed a reimagining. He enjoyed the original film as a child and became fonder of it as an adult when he understood how relevant it was, but liked this interpretation because it lacked the contradictory message of Klaatu "laying down the law [...] almost as though the alien had the bigger stick". Reeves acknowledged his Klaatu is "inverted" from the original, starting "sinister and tough" but becomes "more human", whereas the original was "more human than human" before revealing his "big stick" in his ending speech. He compared the remake's Klaatu to the wrathful God who floods the world in the Old Testament, but is gentle and forgiving by the time of the New Testament. He spent many weeks advising the script, trying to make Klaatu's transition from alien in human form to one who appreciates their emotions and beliefs subtle and nuanced. Derrickson said although Reeves would not use actions "that are highly unusual or highly quirky", he nevertheless "keeps you aware of the fact that this being you're walking through this movie with is not a human being". At Reeves' insistence, the classic line "Klaatu barada nikto" was added to the script after initially being omitted. The line was recorded many times, and it was decided to combine two versions; one where Reeves just said it, and a reversed version of a recording where he said the line backwards, creating an alien effect.

The Day the Earth Stood Still is now made into a 2008 remake of the American science fiction film. Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Keanu Reeves (Neo/One/JC) as Klaatu (JC/Sun), the film updates Cold War themes like nuclear warfare to the more contemporary issue of man's environmental damage to the planet.

The One climbing a K2 mountain

In 1928, a mountaineer encounters a glowing sphere while on an expedition in the snowy mountains of India. He suddenly finds himself awakening after a sudden loss of consciousness, with the sphere now gone and a scar on his hand. In the present day, Dr. Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly), a Princeton professor, and other scientists are hastily assembled by the government in order to formulate a survival plan when it is feared that a large unknown object with a speed of 30,000 km/s is on a crash course to the Earth, due to impact in just over an hour.

Jennifer Connelly (JC/Isis) as Helen (Moon/Isis) Benson.

A famed astrobiologist at Princeton University who is recruited by the government to study Klaatu. Connelly was Derrickson's first choice for the part. She is a fan of the original film and felt Patricia Neal's original portrayal of Helen was "fabulous", but trusted the filmmakers with their reinterpretation of the story and Helen, who was a secretary in the original. Connelly emphasized Helen is amazed when she meets Klaatu, as she never believed she would encounter a sentient alien like him after speculating on extraterrestrial life for so long. Connelly was dedicated to understanding her scientific jargon, with Seth Shostak stating she did "everything short of writing a NASA grant application".

Nothing can be done about it because a vital military satellite has been disabled. However, the object is a large spherical biological spaceship, which slows down and lands gently in Central Park.

[New York (Ny/Oz/Babylon/Zion)]

A representative of an alien race named Klaatu (Keanu Reeves), taking on the appearance of the man from the opening scene of the film, emerges from the sphere while accompanied by a large robot, who attacks after the military shoots Klaatu. Klaatu has come to assess whether humanity can reverse the environmental damage they have inflicted on their own planet.

While recovering from a gunshot wound, Klaatu is detained by Regina Jackson (Kathy Bates), the United States Secretary of Defense, and is barred from speaking to the United Nations. Klaatu manages to escape, and he soon finds himself eluding the authorities with Helen and her stepson Jacob (Jaden Smith).

Pythagorean Triangle

According to Plutarch (46 - 120 C.E.),the Egyptians attributed the sides of the triangle in this fashion. The vertical line was of 3 units and attributed to Osiris. The horizontal line was of 4 units and attributed to Isis. And the hypotenuse was, of course, 5 units and attributed to Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis. It is noteworthy that Plutarch studied in the Academy at Athens and was a priest at Apollo's temple at Delphi for 20 years. In the myth of Osiris and Isis, Osiris is killed which makes Horus the Son of a Widow and links him with Hiram.

The units of the triangle's side are significant. The three units of the Osiris vertical has been attributed to the three Alchemical principles of Salt, Sulphur and Mercury (direct correspondence with the Hindu concept of the Gunas: Tamas, Rajas and Sattva.). All things are manifestations of these three principles according to Alchemical doctrine. The four units of the horizontal line of Isis relate to the so-called four elements: earth, air, water, and fire. These are of course the four Ancients. (Hindu classification: prithivi, vayu, apas, tejas). The ascending Horus line with its five units represents the five kingdoms: mineral, plant, animal, human, and the Fifth Kingdom. This is the Path of Return. The ascending line finally connects back up with the Osirian line. The Fifth Kingdom symbolizes the Adept as one who has consciously reunited with the Source of all Being.

Jaden 2K Horus Smith (Karate Kid) as Jacob (Supplanter/Wrestler with God) Benson (Son of Ben 2K Thomas), Helen's rebellious eight-year old stepson. His conflict with his stepmother was worsened by the death of his father(Horus/Vengeful Son/Widows son/Hiram Abiff), and initially dislikes Klaatu, believing he is a potential stepfather. Jacob replaces the character of Bobby from the original, and his relationship with Helen was written as a microcosm of how Klaatu comes to see humanity the alien sees their cold and distant relationship as proof positive of normal human behavior, and their reconciliation forces him to change his mind. Smith said he found Jacob difficult to play because he felt the character an "opposite" of his personality. Smith had met Reeves before on the set of The Matrix sequels with his mother Jada Pinkett-Smith. Will 2K was also the first choice for Neo but turned it down.

Meanwhile, the presence of the sphere has caused a worldwide panic, and the military manages to capture the robot after it thwarts their attempts to destroy the sphere.

Klaatu decides that humans shall be exterminated so the planet – with its rare ability to sustain complex life – can survive. He orders smaller spheres previously hidden on Earth to begin taking animal species off the planet, and Jackson, reminded of Noah's Ark, fears that a cataclysm is imminent.

The robot, dubbed "Gort" (Genetically Organized Robotic Technology) by the government, is being experimented on deep within an underground facility when it transforms into a swarm of self-replicating insect-like nanites that begin destroying everything in their path.

Twin Pillars/ All Seeing Eye

After speaking with a Nobel Prize-winning Professor Barnhardt about how his own species went through drastic evolution to survive its own climate change, Klaatu is convinced by Helen and Jacob that humans can change their ways and are worth saving. The three begin heading to the sphere in Central Park, with Helen's colleauge Michael but Klaatu warns that even if he manages to stop Gort there will be a price to the human way of life. The nanobot cloud arrives before they can reach the sphere and they have to hide under a bridge after their car is destroyed, as well as killing Michael.

There, it is revealed that Jacob and Helen have been infected by the nanites. She pleads with Klaatu to save Jacob. Klaatu saves both of them by transferring the infection to his own body, then sacrifices his physical form to stop Gort by walking through the nanites to the sphere and touching it. His actions cause the sphere to emit a massive EMP-like explosion which stops Gort, saving humanity, but at the price of all of Earth's technology becoming useless, which gives meaning to the title "The Day the Earth Stood Still". Klaatu disappears, and the giant sphere leaves Earth.
